Known as a "meatball" flag because of the rising sun symbol, flags of this type were hand-signed with messages of good luck from relatives and friends of Japanese soldiers who took the flags with them when they went off to war. A small number of these flags were taken off the battlefield and brought back to the United States by G.I.s. No damage or stains.
Condition: (Excellent).
