Circa 1823. Horn marked J.C. Attributed to Jacob Croninger, John Croningers paternal grandfather. Marked with the initials PH. Initials IR are beleived to be the maker's mark. Several inscriptions present including Fort Meigs feller's axe (featuring an IR makers mark), Native American mark known as the "twirling logs" or "four directions" located between the letters in the PH initials, Trader's knife, Bullet mold or scribe, Animal with cloven hoof (possibly an Ox), animal which is either a tiger or a dog, plants which are corn or sorghum and a double line filigree (typical of early 1800's). End cap spoon-carved after being turned on a lathe (typical of York County, PA). Cap has nice carvings.

Condition: (Excellent).
