Buckman made seven different models of the live steam fire pumpers from circa 1885 to 1895. This model has the “bee-hive” style boiler with the steam engine mounted on the top. The water is drawn from the reservoir that forms the base of this pumper. Sold by Peck & Snyder in 1886, by Montgomery Ward in 1889 and by Ives, Blakeslee & Williams in 1893. The prices ranged from $4.00 to $30.00 for the various model engines. A great sum in its day. The pump rod needs to be reconnected. The boiler has a couple of minor dents. The seat needs to be re-attached. Considering its age, this pumper would still rate very good.
Condition: (Very Good).
