The boiler and engine are typical Favorite configuration with the addition of a built in gear driven force pump. The pump is reported to being capable to throwing a six foot stream of water. Most of the paint on this toy is lost, which is common for the Favorite toys. Evidently there was no primer applied and the paint was subject to flaking. This is a relatively scarce engine. Circa 1890 to 1901. The original price of this engine was $1.30.
