This engine in one of the finest horizontal engines made by Marklin. It is more of a model that a toy. Perhaps Marklin was aiming the marketing of the toy to the Father rather than the Son. This is a two cylinder engine. It has all the accoutrements including a steam gauge, whistle (the top of the whistle is missing), weighted safety mounted on a steam dome, a cat walk, flyball governor, oilers, waterglass, drain cock, a partially jacketed boiler and an original Marklin dynamo. Truly a great example of the technology of the 1920s. Equally at home in a steam toy collection, a general toy collection, a collection of steam era technology or just as a work of art.

Condition: (Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 20" x 18". Base: 20".
MARKLIN NO. 4161 STEAM ENGINE.
