Circa 1840 to 1850. OL: 59". BL: 43 - 1/2". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. PB: 4-piece. S: Walnut. Signed. School: Western Pennsylvania. 2 silver inlays. This rifle has a Dreppard (Lancaster) lock and a Peter Gonter patchbox, both of which, of course, are re-cycled parts. The gun’s stock is in the style of the Huntingdon County gunsmiths and has been darkened and refinished to hide some repairs.
