Circa 1820 to 1830. OL: 55". BL: 41". TB: Octagonal. LM: Flintlock. PB: None. S: Curly maple. School: Adams County. Relief carving. This Kentucky fowler appears to have been “carved up” to look like an Adam Ernst from York/ Adams County. In addition the stock is spliced at the trigger assembly on out to the center of the fore-arm. The lock has been re-converted to flintlock and the carving around the lock panels and fore and aft of the cheekpiece is spurious.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
