Germany, Ca. 1840. Perfect china shoulder head with black molded bun hairdo covering ears and looping to back with white center part, pink flesh tint, dainty face with brown painted eyes, red eyelid line, closed mouth and rosy cheeks (tiny paint flake in hair and 2 black specks on cheek). Original fully wood body with china lower arms and legs. All original layered clothing: 2 piece lined red wool dress, chemise, 3 petticoats, white cotton apron (2 age splits), knit stockings and leather shoes (worn), white lacy cap uner straw bonnet, white cotton cape, also long leather gloves. Excellent condition (head loose as the old glue has dried out). Gloves, socks and shoes have not been removed to preserve their original condition. So unusual to find an early doll in virtually untouched original condition. Directly from a Lancaster County Estate.
