MARLIN MODEL 1894 SEMI-DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. MARLIN 1894 326368 25-20 MODERN; C&R; IVORY Cal. .25-20. Fine rifle with 24" tapered oct bbl, half magazine, combination front sight with "certifiable antique red dyed ivory" bead, slot blank in rear seat and a locking Lyman tang sight. Mounted with very nicely figured, shell grain American walnut that has A-style checkered forearm and serpentine grip buttstock with Marlin trademark embossed hard rubber buttplate. Left side of upper tang, under the wood has matching SN which is also found in top tang channel of buttstock. The model 1894 Marlin was a fine and reliable rifle. The small bore .25-20 cal., was not considered to be a big game cartridge and as such was usually relegated to boys and ladies use for small game & garden pests. Small bore rifles of that era are rarely found with high orig finish or good bores. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Phil A. Bleakney. CONDITION: Very fine, bbl & magazine tube retain about all of a very fine, high quality restored finish. Receiver, lever and hammer retain strong case colors, turned silver on bottom of receiver and outer faces of lever. Bolt retains about 95% bright blue. Wood is sound showing a fine restored finish.
