MARLIN BALLARD RIGBY NO 6-1/2 SINGLE SHOT TARGET RIFLE.MarlinBallard Rigby No 6-1/22816438-55C&RCal. 38-55. 28" bbl, blue and case colored finish, checkered pistol grip stocks with Farrow pattern light Swiss butt. Spirit level front sight, Vernier mid-range rear tang sight. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 90% blue with some thinning, very good bore. "Ballard" engraved on top flat, receiver shows 80% case colors with few apparent mars. Hammer, breechblock and lever show 80% case color, some browning on the lever. Stocks are very good with checkered pistol grip and forend with horn cap, stocks retain 90% orig finish with some bruising on the buttstock. Buttplate shows 10% case color with the balance turning silver. Engraving is very high quality with a vignette of a running deer on left side bordered by scroll, right side of receiver shows a vignette of a bear, also surrounded by fine scroll. Top of receiver is faceted and is scroll engraved on flats. Very nice Ballard Rigby rifle. 49290-8 TEP (5,000-8,000)
