EARLY WINCHESTER MODEL 42 CUSTOM GOLD INLAID HIGH ART SHOTGUN. WINCHESTER 42 16247 .410 MODERN .410 ga. 26" bbl. 3" chamber. Full choke. Full length matted ventilated rib with steel mid bead and red plastic front bead. Gold plated trigger. Capped full pistol grip buttstock is flame grained American walnut checkered in fancy multi panel fleur-de-lis pattern with 14" LOP over Winchester Repeating Arms Co. monogrammed and checkered buttplate. Forearm near full coverage checkered in fancy ribbon and fleur-de-lis pattern. Receiver is beautifully and near full coverage scroll and game scene engraved with gold inlaid doves in field on left side and gold inlaid quail in farm field scene on right side all surrounded by perfectly executed scroll and gold border pattern. Muzzle band and choke marking in gold and most of receiver with gold inlaid border pattern. Weight: 6 lbs 8 oz. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Robert Burg. CONDITION: Extremely fine retaining most custom finish to both wood and metal with only minute handling marks throughout. Minor chip at toe in buttplate. Brilliant shiny bore.
