SCARCE BROWNING A5 ENGRAVED BY VRANCKEN. BROWNING A-5 209660 16 Ga MODERN; C&R 16 ga. 2-3/4" chamber. Imp Cyl choke. Full length matted low profile ventilated rib with steel front bead. Gold plated trigger. Full pistol grip buttstock with 14-1/4" LOP over FN Browning buttplate. Buttstock checkered in 3-point pattern. Forearm checkered in 5-point pattern. Receiver finely engraved and signed by L. Vrancken with boar hunt scene on left side of receiver with a pack of 8 dogs taking down the boar. Top of left side of receiver engraved with 5 ducks in marsh scene. Right side of receiver with a pack of 7 dogs taking down a bull elk in field scene. Top of right side of receiver engraved with 5 pheasants in field and woods scene. Beautifully engraved Spaniel with fine detail on back of receiver. Top tang and trigger guard lightly scroll and floral engraved. Accompanied by its orig shipping box. Weight: 7 lb 4 oz. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Robert Burg. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl retains most of its orig blue with a few light handling marks. Receiver is French gray. Buttstock and forend retain 92-96% orig varnish with scattered light handling marks and minor chips in finish, particularly on bottom of butt and near toe, but overall they are excellent. Buttplate is excellent. Mechanics are crisp. Brilliant shiny bore. Box is very good with edge separation and scuff marks. 49503-52 JSL181 (4,500-7,500)
