BEAUTIFUL A.H. FOX CE 12 GAUGE.A. H. FOXCE2722312 GAMODERN; C&R12 ga. 28" Chromox fluid steel bbls. 2-5/8" chambers. CHOKED: Mod/Full. Full length matted rib with steel front bead. No. 4 weight bbls. Double triggers, automatic ejectors, automatic safety. Full pistol grip buttstock checkered in 2-pt pattern with checkered side panels, 14" LOP over Redhead ventilated pad. Splinter forearm with Deeley release and ebony tip checkered in 2-pt pattern. Receiver is engraved in typical "C" pattern with two quail on left, two woodcock on right surrounded by nicely cut scroll engraving and marked "ANSLEY H. FOX" on both sides. Bottom of frame with setter in field scene and nicely scroll engraved trigger plate. Trigger guard is nicely scroll engraved with the initials "W.H.A." in ribbon. Top of frame and top lever are nicely scroll engraved. There is a 1-1/2" wedge of engraving on breech on both sides. WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 0 oz. PROVENANCE: June 1986 letter from Roe S. Clark describing this gun as found in the factory records with the exception of right choke, weight and LOP. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain 90-95% beautiful orig blue with just a couple of light handling marks and scratches. Receiver retains 75% or more of its bright orig case color, just starting to tone on bottom of frame. Trigger guard with 50-60% bright orig blue mostly on bow starting to tone on tang. Forend iron has mostly toned. Buttstock and forearm are excellent and retain most of their orig varnish with scattered light handling marks throughout. There is a tiny sliver of wood missing on left side of forearm that is almost imperceptible. Top lever is right of center. Brilliant shiny bore. Mechanics are crisp.
