BEAUTIFUL RESTORED LEFEVER B GRADE.LEFEVERB GRADE1094412 GA12 ga. 30" fine Damascus bbls. 2-3/4" chambers. CHOKED: Mod/Full. Full length matted Damascus rib with synthetic ivory mid and front bead marked "Fine Damascus Steel. Lefever Arms Co. Makers & Patentees. Syracuse, NY.". Checkered nickel plated triggers, extractors, automatic safety. Early pivot opener. Beautifully figured round knob pistol grip stock with 13-3/4" LOP over 3/4" checkered black HRBP. Buttstock is checkered in 4-pt pattern with waves near comb and tear drop behind lockplates. Gold shield near toe. Splinter forearm with early push button release and 2 tiered sculpted horn tip. Forearm, nearly fully in checkered 4-pt pattern. Receiver is beautifully engraved in early B grade pattern. Left side with setter and dead bird in his mouth in field scene surrounded by scroll and geometric pattern on stepped side plate. Top of frame nicely scroll engraved with geometric pattern. Right side with pointer standing on rock surrounded by scroll. Both lockplates marked "Lefever Arms Co." Bottom of frame nicely scroll engraved with a burst of scroll and leaf pattern on rails. Fences are sculpted in point patten which extends into butterfly wings on bbls. Trigger guard is beautifully engraved with a bust of a spaniel carrying a harvested woodcock in his mouth surrounded by scroll and chain link border and encased in geometric pattern. WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 1 oz. CONDITION: Excellent as competently and completely restored by master gunsmith Brad Bachelder. Retaining most restored finish to both wood and metal. There is an old, now near invisible and fixed crack running from back of left lockplate to end of top tang. Bores are bright and shiny with a scattered light pit or two. Plenty of wall thickness. Mechanics are excellent. Gun is nice and tight. These early high grade Lefever''s are rare, hard to come by and amongst the best made of the American shotguns. 49619-1 JSL309 (8,000-12,000)
