RARE ALL OPTION ITHACA GRADE 5E NID.ITHACA5E GRADE46764912 GaMODERN; C&R; IVORYCal. 12 Ga. 26" bbls (orig length). 2-3/4" chambers. Choked: IMP CYL/CYL. Full length matted ventilated rib with twin "certifiable pre-ban ivory" beads. Single selective trigger, automatic ejectors, non-automatic safety. Capped full pistol grip buttstock with 13-3/4" LOP over black serrated hard rubber buttplate. Buttstock with gold oval shield is beautifully figured flame grained American walnut. Beautifully engraved in typical Grade 5 pattern with two tone gold pheasant on left, gold woodcock on right surrounded by acanthus leaf floral pattern engraving. Bottom of frame with American eagle, marked "MADE IN USA ITHACA GUN CO ITHACA NY". Acanthus leaf engraving on trigger plate and trigger guard bow. Gun comes with two forends; one a splinter, likely the original, shows slightly more use, and the other, a beavertail forend which is numbered to the gun and matches perfectly, including checkering and engraving likely added by Ithaca during production. Checkering pattern is typical ornate Grade 5 pattern with Fleur-de-lis through grip and finely checkered side panels. Splinter forend nicely checkered with ribbon pattern. Beavertail forend with 4-point near full coverage checkering pattern. Weight: 8 lb 3 oz with beavertail forend - 7 lb 14 oz with splinter forend. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Robert Burg. CONDITION: Excellent overall. Receiver retains 65-70% nice orig case colors. Bbl blue is approx 90% orig but starting to thin and tone. Trigger guard retains nearly all of what could be its orig blued finish. Checkering is sharp. Restored stock finish show light handling marks throughout but is overall excellent. Mechanics are excellent. Bores are bright and shiny. Overall a beautiful and dynamic high grade Ithaca in a rare configuration with the orig 26" bbls - this is would be dandy little skeet gun. 49503-37 JSL74 (6,000-10,000)
