CASED JOHN RIGBY BOXLOCK.JOHN RIGBYBEST GRADE BOX LOCK14417012 GAMODERN; C&RCal. 12 GA. 28" bbls, 2-3/4" chambers. Choked: IMP CYL/MOD. Full length plain steel rib with brass front bead, marked "John Rigby & Co. 13 Pall Mall St, London S.W.1." and lightly scroll engraved at breech end. Double triggers, automatic ejectors, automatic safety. Straight grip stock checkered in two point pattern with gold shield at toe with 14-1/4" LOP over checkered butt. Splinter forend with Curtis release and engraved tip checkered in three point pattern. Scalloped box lock action is near full coverage scroll engraved and marked "John Rigby & Co." on both sides. Trigger guard and top lever are scroll engraved "Safe" inlaid in gold in front of safety. WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 0 oz. CONDITION: Excellent as partially refurbished. Bbls retain 98-99% of an expertly restored blued finish. Receiver retains 90-95% orig case hardened finish. Trigger guard and top lever retain most of what appears to be orig blued finish. Buttstock and forearm are excellent and retain most of an older professionally restored hand rubbed finish with a couple of light handling marks. There is a tiny grain separation behind the top tang and one just beginning on forearm near frame. Mechanics are excellent. Brilliant shiny bore.
