BEAUTIFUL HIGH GRADE C.G. BONEHILL HAMMER GUN. BONEHILL HAMMER NSN 12 GA Cal. 12 ga. 30-1/2" Special steel bbls, 3" chambers, CHOKED: Imp.cyl./Mod. Full length matted rib with steel front bead marked "Belmont Interchangeable Gun - Special Steel" with light breech scroll engraving and doll's head extension. Double triggers, extractors, no safety. Full pistol grip buttstock, checkered in 2-pt pattern with gold name shield with initials "ED" engraved and 14-1/2" LOP over Bonehill monogrammed and checkered HRBP. Splinter forearm with Deeley release and beautiful two level horn tip is near full coverage checkered with a beautiful balloon pattern below release that is perhaps 32 LPI in that panel. Receiver is beautifully near full coverage engraved. Setter, pointer and two pheasants on left all surrounded by scroll. Two setters and ducks on right. Both lockplates marked "Belmont Interchangeable Gun". Bottom of frame beautifully rose and scroll engraved in near full coverage. Trigger guard, hammers and top lever are beautifully scroll engraved. Top of frame and fences, nicely sculpted with beautiful bead pattern. WEIGHT: 7 lbs. PROVENANCE: Larry Baer Estate Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine as partially refurbished. Bbls retain 85-90% of an older expertly restored finish with a few light handling marks and scratches. Receiver retains 75-80% bright older factory restored case colors. Engraving is still sharp. Buttstock and forend retain most of a very old, professionally restored finish. Checkering still fairly sharp. Trigger guard retains most of a professionally restored finish. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. A lovely high grade hammer gun. 49428-24 JSL260 (1,500-2,500)
