EARLY 20 GAUGE BROWNING DIANA GRADE SUPERPOSED ENGRAVED BY LEGIERS WITH CASE. BROWNING SUPERPOSED DIANA 26791V2 20 GA MODERN (1962) Cal. 20 ga. 3" Chambers. 26-3/8" Bbls marked for IC and mod, are fitted with narrow, ventilated rib, marked with Browning St. Louis and Montreal addresses with steel and chamber information on left, with Browning patent information and "MADE IN BELGIUM" on right. Coin finished action with non-automatic safety and gold plated single selective trigger, is engraved in typical "Diana" style with semi-relief scrolled strapwork with acanthus highlights surrounding game scenes; five pheasant on left side, four mallards on right. A pair of quail fly across bottom of action and two rabbits are on trigger guard bow. Bottom right scene is signed "Legiers". Fine smoky marbled French walnut round knob long tang buttstock measures 14" over horn Browning buttplate. Point pattern checkering with line borders is at grip. One piece field forend matches well. Bore diameter: top -.606, bottom -.607. Bore restrictions: top -.015 (mod), bottom -.008 (IC). Drop at heel: 2-1/8", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Weight: 6 lbs 2 oz. LOP: 14". Tan vinyl Browning case is lined in faux fur, and contains case info and two keys. PROVENANCE: Rod Fuller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly all of its orig finishes on wood and metal, with some rub marks, and a few light nicks in bbl blue, some slight browning to coin finish of action, and a few light marks in stock finish. Mechanically excellent, and smooth. There are some rubs from use, and slightly thinning on gold-plating of trigger. Case is excellent with some light scuffs. Interior has some light compressions and a hint of oxidation from bbls. 49114-23 MGM160 (6,500-9,500)
