FN BROWNING SIDEPLATED F1 "CHAMBORD" SUPERPOSED ENGRAVED BY J. LODEWYC WITH CASE. FN OU F1 7264S2 12 GA MODERN Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4” Chambers. 30" Bbls are marked for Imod and full. Bbls have wide, "broadway" ventilated rib with Bradley white front, and silver mid, beads. They are engraved "Fabrique Nationale Herstal" on left side. Well rendered portraits of ducks settling into marsh are on each side of breech ends. Coin finished, nicely filed, Browning OU action with ornamental sideplates, has sgl selective trigger with checkered finger blade. Action and lockplates are engraved with 70 - 80% coverage of fine, well cut, medium, open, shaded scroll within geometric borders surrounding scenes of game birds in flight; a pair of quail on left, pheasants on right, and a duck taking wing on bottom of action. This well executed work is signed by "J. Lodewyc" under quail scene. Nicely streaked European walnut long tang flat knob buttstock measures 14-1/4” over open sided Browning white line pad. Modified point pattern checkering at grip has large carved beaded borders, and typical FN fluted drop points are behind lockplates. Matching 1-pc forend is of straight beavertail type. Bore diameter: top -.724, bottom -.724. Bore restrictions: top: .034 (full), bottom: .009 (lt mod). Drop at heel: 1-5/8", drop at comb: 1-7/16". Weight: 7 lbs 15 oz. LOP: 14-1/4". Tan Browning Hartman case is lined in off white faux fur with instruction booklet inside. PROVENANCE: Rod Fuller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Excellent, essentially as new, appears unfired since proof, with only a few light handling marks on wood and metal. Mechanically crisp.
