FN BROWNING HIGH POWER OLYMPIAN GRADE LONG EXTRACTOR MEDIUM GAME RIFLE ENGRAVED BY VANDERSMISSEN AND DEWIL WITH SCOPE. BROWNING OLYMPIAN 7P43735 7 MM REM MAG MODERN Cal. 7mm Rem. Mag. 24" Medium weight round bbl is marked with Browning Arms Co on left, and with caliber, SN and "MADE IN BELGIUM" on right side. There are 2" triangles of scrolled acanthus engraving at sides of breech end. Coin finished Mauser action with long extractor has gold-plated trigger. Action is engraved with well cut, shaded, acanthus scroll, as background to game scenes appropriate to caliber; a moose is on left side of receiver ring, and a bugling elk is on right. Floorplate depicts a buck mule deer with large birch tree in background, and a portrait of a snarling mountain lion is on trigger guard bow. Deer is signed "R. Dewil". Mountain lion is unsigned. Elk scene is signed "Vandersmissen G", visible with action removed. Moose scene is unsigned but also shows the fine hand of Mr. Vandersmissen. Lightly fiddle figured broad banded claro walnut gloss finished rosewood capped pistol grip stock is fitted with Browning open-sided white line pad. Stock features Monte Carlo comb with swept right hand cheekpiece, two recoil bolts, and rosewood forend tip with white line spacer. Matching flared grip cap has inset gold diamond on bottom engraved "RGH". Closely spaced checkering at grip and forend is flanked by relief carved scrolling acanthus with stipple shaded background. Sling studs are in forend and on toe line. 2 X - 7X Browning scope with crosshair reticle is in Redfield type rings with one piece base. Weight with scope: 9 lbs. 14 oz. LOP: 13-5/8". CONDITION: Excellent, near new, with little evidence of having been fired, retaining essentially all its finishes on wood and metal, with only the lightest of handling marks. Checkering remains light in color. There are slight operating marks on bolt. Gold of trigger is excellent. Bore is excellent. Mechanically crisp. There is no visible evidence of salt damage to any metal, upon disassembly, some spots of oxidation are noted on left side of action, however wood tests negative for salt. Scope is excellent with one or two light scratches in exterior. Optics clear. 49033-4 MGM99 (6,500-9,000)
