EXQUISITE IVO FABBRI SIDE BY SIDE SIDELOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN ENGRAVED BY C. TOMASONI WITH CASE. FABBRI SIDE BY SIDE SIDELOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN E584 12 GA. MODERN (1982) Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. Beautifully struck 27-1/2" chopper lump bbls fitted with concave, matted rib, are engraved "ARMI FABBRI BRESCIA ITALY" and "VACUUM ARC REMELTING STEEL" on tops. Bbl flats are stamped with 1982 nitro proofs, "6", "10", SN, makers name and importers name and address (CT Shotgun). Coin finished sidelock action features non-automatic safety (SAFE engraved), engraved line tumbler end cocking indicators, and single non-selective trigger. Action is beautifully engraved with a mixture of small scroll and larger open scrolling acanthus with some floral highlights surrounding exceptional Bulino scene on bottom of action of flushing pheasant with hunter mounting gun in background. Lockplates are Bulino engraved with other fine game scenes; a flock of mallards are settling into marsh, with another mallard bathing in foreground, of left lock, right with lovely scene of partridge flying from hillside with cropland in distance, being pointed by pointer. A similar scene (without dog) is illustrated as figure 118 in MODERN FIREARMS ENGRAVINGS by Mario Abbiatico, as done by Claudio Tomasoni. Engraving on this gun is by Tomasoni, with his signature appearing at the bottom of each game scene on lockplates, and on trigger plate. "IVO FABBRI" is on bottom of each side of action. Top lever and trigger guard have scroll and acanthus engraving to match action. SN is at grip. Understated but elegant dark streaked and lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/8" over checkered wood butt. Well cut borderless point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.726, right -.727. Bore restrictions: left -.038 (full), right -.027 (Imod). Wall thickness: left -.029, right -.020. Drop at heel: 2-1/8", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Weight: 6 lbs 14 oz. LOP: 14-3/8". Fine quality russet leather case with brass corners and central brass medallion, has burgundy colored canvas outer cover with brown leather trim, with central leather medallion gold embossed "VRG". Case is lined in dark green suede, and has three covered compartments with brass knobs, and space for seven cartridges in wood block. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, with scant evidence of light field use. Bbls retain essentially all of their exquisite satin black finish, with one or two light marks, mostly on bottom of right bbl. Action retains essentially all of its coin finish with some scattered light oxidation marks on bottom left. Stocks have some light scratches and handling marks in their orig rubbed oil finish, checkering very slightly darkened. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Bbls are on face, with only a hint of cartridge halos on breechface. Ejectors are strong and in time. Trigger works. Case leather is excellent with only a few light marks, as protected by its outer cover, which has some scuffs. Zippers work. Case handle is excellent. Interior is excellent. An opportunity to own one of the world''s finest guns, embellished by a renowned master. 49305-16 MGM88 (20,000-30,000)
