PERUGINI & VISINI "KENNEDY COMPETITION" MAESTRO O/U WITH GOLD INLAY AND ENGRAVING BY R. GRECO WITH CASE.PERUGINI & VISINIOU MAESTRO274012 GAMODERNCal. 12 GA 2-3/4" Chambers. 30" Demi-bloc bbls fitted with matted, ventilated top rib and ventilated side ribs, are marked "KENNEDY COMPETITION" and "MADE BY PERUGINI & VISINI ITALY" on left rear. Bbl flats are stamped with 2002 Italian nitro proofs and SN. Low profile, coin finished, OU action with ornamental sideplates and removable trigger group features non-automatic safety and gold-plated sgl non-selective trigger adjustable for position. Action is engraved with exceptionally well cut, large, open, shaded, acanthus scroll with foliate highlights surrounding a trio of semi-relief gold inlaid quail flushing from cover on bottom which is also inlaid "PERUGINI & VISINI". Left sideplate depicts another covey of quail flushing away from viewer from tangled brushland. Right side depicts more quail also departing from open meadow, one member turning away from viewer. This interesting and well done engraving is by "R. Greco" noted Belgian engraver, whose signature appears on left side of trigger group. Fine exhibition quality dramatically marbled and nicely flame figured European walnut flared pistol grip buttstock measures 14-3/4" (rear trigger position) over black KICKEEZ pad. Point pattern checkering with line borders is at grip. Matching slim 1-pc forend has Anson type release. Bore diameter: top -.727, bottom -.727. Bore restrictions: top -.027 (Imod), bottom -.019 (mod). Drop at heel: 2", drop at comb: 1-5/16". Weight: 8 lbs 1 oz. LOP: 14-3/4". Black plastic ABS case is marked "Maestro" and has three combination locks. Case is lined in reddish velvet with P & V label in lid, and contains bags for action and bbls, stock removal tool, and spare mainsprings and strikers in plastic box. CONDITION: Excellent, showing light use, with only a hint of sharp edge wear on bbls and other blued parts. Coin finish is excellent. Stocks have a few minor marks in their rubbed oil finish. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent.Ejectors are out of time. Case is excellent, with some scuffs. 49181-31 MGM262 (10,000-15,000)
