Rear portion is fitted with Recknagel ERA type QD scope mounts and a single standing sight. Matted portion of quarter rib is engraved "Carabine - Oural Chapuis - France". There are sprays of scroll engraving around breech and on front scope base. Bbl flats and lump are stamped with SN and caliber. Bottom of bbl is marked with importers name and address (J. J. Perodeau). Coin finished, scallop-backed boxlock action features non-automatic safety, reinforcing bolsters, and beaded trigger guard. Action is engraved with about 40% coverage simple scroll. Trigger guard tang extends to steel grip cap. Nicely fiddle figured and lightly streaked European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 15-3/8" over Morgan type adjustable pad by "Decelerator". Stock also features right hand palm swell, swept right hand cheekpiece, and point pattern checkering with beaded borders at grip. Sharply tapered and schnabeled matching forend has Deeley type release. Drop at heel in front of pad: approx 2-1/2", drop at comb: approx 1-1/2". Weight without scope: 8 lbs 2 oz. LOP: 15-3/8”. Swarovski Habicht 2.5 - 10 X 56 scope with duplex reticle is in ERA rings, and has storm cover. CONDITION: Excellent, showing light field use. Metal parts retain over 95% of their orig finishes. Stocks have nearly all their orig finish, with a considerable number of marks and scratches, some fairly deep. Right front portion of forend schnabel has a relatively large chip from being dropped.
