UNUSUAL JOSEPH LANG OVER-UNDER SINGLE TRIGGER EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. JOSEPH LANG OVER-UNDER SINGLE TRIGGER EJECTOR 15521 12 GA. MODERN (ca 1913) Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 28" Mono-bloc bbls fitted with raised, matted, ventilated rib are engraved "1112 New Bond Street, London" and with makers name either side of rib on mono-bloc. There are no proofs on the bbls, except for a provisional proof on bottom of mono-bloc. Case hardened, deep OU action is fitted with hand detachable back action sidelocks which detach with spring detents under hinged covers at the rear of each plate. Action has interesting filing of beads and top fence, and is fitted with Lang's highly regarded single non-selective trigger. Action and sideplates are engraved with about 60% coverage well cut medium shaded scroll. "Joseph Lang & Son" is on each side of action, and the date "1913" is on the bottom. Blued top lever and small bow trigger guard are scroll engraved. SN is at grip. Lightly streaked and slightly fiddle figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over checkered composition buttplate. Stock features drop points, point pattern checkering with mullered borders at grip, and a silver oval on toe line engraved "F. J. F." Matching 3-pc ejector forend has Deeley release. Bore diameter: top -.729, bottom -.729. Bore restrictions: top -.045 (extra full), bottom -.051 (extra full). Wall thickness: top -.040, bottom -.040. Drop at heel: 2-1/4", drop at comb: 1-9/16". Weight: 7 lbs 10 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". High quality oak and leather case with brass corners is lined in green cloth. Reproduction paper Joseph Lang label is in lid. Case contains a pair of snap caps, square oil bottle, pair of ejector springs, and the key. CONDITION: Excellent, as refurbished. Bbls retain over 95% of an old re-black with some minor scratches and spotting. Action retains nearly all of a deeply toned re-case color, engraving remains clear. Top lever and trigger guard retain nearly all of their re-blue. Stocks retain nearly all of an old hand rubbed oil finish with some light spotting and marks. Buttplate is a replacement. Checkering is slightly worn, does not appear to have been re-cut. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Trigger only fires one bbl. Ejectors do not operate,extract only, mainsprings in case, no trips. Case leather is excellent, but with some marks, slight rubs, and mildew. Interior cloth is excellent. Label has been distressed. Accessories are excellent. The 1939 Stoeger catalog listed the Joseph Lang OU gun at a price of $1045.00. 49029-16 MGM75 (7,500-12,500)
