FINE BIG BORE W. & C. SCOTT MONTE CARLO B HEAVY GAME GUN.W. & C. SCOTTMONTE CARLO B HEAVY GAME GUN7365810 GAMODERN(1904) Cal. 10 ga. 2-7/8" Chambers. 32" Dovetailed bbls with flat, matted, pigeon rib engraved "SCOTT'S IMPROVED BOLT" at breech end, are engraved with Scott's name, address, and "THE MONTE CARLO B" on tops. Bbl flats are stamped with Birmingham nitro proofs for 1-1/2 oz of shot, and with "W & S" winged bullet logos. Case hardened square back sidelock action features automatic safety, square crossbolt third fastener, Scott's patented gas vents, and double triggers. Action is engraved with 60 - 70% coverage well cut various sized scroll. "W & C SCOTT & SON" is on each lockplate, which are also engraved with fine renditions of pigeons in flight. Blued top lever and trigger guard are also scroll engraved. SN is on grip strap, which is also engraved with "castle" trademark, and extends to steel grip cap. Dark, well marbled, and lightly fiddle figured European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 15-3/8" over 1-1/2" thick Silver type pad. Stock features drop points, flat top checkering with line borders, and a vacant silver oval on toe line. Short splinter forend has W & C Scott patent long lever release. Bore diameter: left -.775, right -.775. Bore restrictions: left -.045 (full), right -.045 (full). Wall thickness: left -.040, right -.042. Drop at heel: 3-1/4", drop at comb: 1-9/16". Weight: 10 lbs 0 oz. LOP: 15-3/8". CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 70 - 80% orig blue with considerable hand wear toward breech ends, thinning overall, with numerous light marks, and a few spots. Action and lockplates retain approx 50% of their orig case hardening color, balance fading to silver gray. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their orig hand rubbed oil finish, which is a bit dry, and with some light scratches and a few deeper marks, mostly on left side of butt. Checkering is slightly worn. Forend checkering is considerably worn. Pad is new. There is a very slight crack at rear of left lockplate. Bores are excellent, bright, shiny, with a hint of frosting in right bbl. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. 49296-5 MGM83 (6,000-9,000)
