LATE PRODUCTION, HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION, NEW ITHACA FIELD GRADE .410. ITHACA FIELD 466896 .410 CAL MODERN Cal. .410. This scarce little gun is in near new orig condition. It has 26" bbls with 3" chambers. Bbls are fitted with matted, concave rib, and have standard Ithaca markings at breech ends. Bbl flats are stamped with SN, chamber length, "4", and a cross (denoting gun was proofed by Charles August). Case hardened action features automatic safety and double triggers, and is wiggle border engraved. American walnut stock is of semi-fancy grade with some figure on left side. Stock features typical point pattern checkering at grip, with composition grip cap and ribbed buttplate with Ithaca information at toe. Matching splinter forend has inset ebony tip, and J-spring release. Bore diameter at muzzles: left -.386, right -.390. Drop at heel: 3", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Weight: 5 lbs 10 oz. LOP: 14”. CONDITION: Excellent, nearly as new, retaining essentially all its orig finishes on wood and metal, with some light staining toward muzzles, and a few marks on bbls. There are some light scratches on blue of forend iron. Case color on opening lever slightly thinned on thumbpiece. Stocks retain essentially all of their orig finish with a few light marks and one a bit heavier on right side of butt, which has had oil rubbed in. A small area at heel appears to have chipped out and been repaired, but looks like this was done at time of manufacture, along with in-fill of 6" long grain check on left side of butt. Checkering is still light in color with one or two missing diamonds. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. A scarce small bore Ithaca in an astounding state of preservation. 49029-20 MGM18 (12,000-15,000)
