SCARCE PARKER AHE TRAP GUN.PARKERSXS AHE15735312 GaMODERN; IVORYCal. 12 ga. 2-5/8" Chambers. 2 Frame. 30" Bbls have matted, concave rib engraved with Parker''s Meriden CT address and "ACME STEEL". Bbl flats are stamped with grade, steel type, and weight. Left side of lump is stamped with SN. Typical Parker action is filed in "A" grade style with single bead around fences. All correct numbers are on water table. Action features non-automatic safety and nickel-plated dbl triggers. Action is engraved with near full coverage deeply cut varying sized scroll with scrolling and geometric borders, closely surrounding small, well detailed dogs and game. A pair of pointers apparently pointing a grouse are on left rear, grouse (?) are on fence. A pair of setters startled by flushing duck is on right side, with flying ducks on fence. Front portion of bottom of action is engraved "Parker Bros". A pair of deer (buck and doe) walk across trigger plate. A pointing pointer is on trigger guard bow. SN is at grip. Dark, nicely marbled and lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4" over skeleton steel buttplate. Stock is embellished in typical "A" grade style with inset checkered side panels, and deeply carved fleur-di-lis drop points. Checkering has shaped border with fleur-di-lis intrusions toward butt. Mid points of comb, where cheekpieces would normally be, are checkered. Matching splinter ejector forend is near fully checkered, has nicely filed steel tip, and typical Parker release. Ejector patent date is on iron. Bore diameter: left -.730, right -.744. Bore restrictions: left -.035 (full), right -.022 (mod). Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.015. Drop at heel: 2-11/16", drop at comb: 1-9/16". Weight: 7 lbs 8 oz. LOP: 14-1/4". CONDITION: Very fine, as restored. Bbls retain essentially all of a satin re-black. Rib matting and marks considerably softened. Action retains most of a color re-hardening with subsequent silvering to give very pleasing appearance. Stock retains nearly all of a fine hand rubbed oil refinish, with evidence of considerable repair at side panels. Checkering nicely re-cut. Bores are excellent, with a number of dents removed in right bbl toward muzzle. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. THE PARKER STORY relates that a total of 167 Acme steel bbl AH guns were made, 20 in 12 ga with 30" bbls. Bead sights are "certifiable antique ivory". 49102-3 MGM303 (20,000-30,000)
