TRULY EXCEPTIONAL, HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION PARKER VHE.PARKERSXS VHE23858312 GaMODERNCal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 1-1/2 Frame. 26" Bbls have concave, matted rib marked with Parker's Meriden CT address and "VULCAN STEEL". Bbl flats are stamped with steel type, Parker proofs, and weight. Left side of lump is stamped with SN. Typical Parker action has all correct numbers and marks on water table. Action features automatic safety and dbl triggers. Action is engraved in typical "V" style with wiggle borders. "PARKER" is on bottom. Trigger guard bow has wiggle borders. SN is at grip. Nicely stump figured American walnut Parker capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over Parker dogs head buttplate without spur. Stock has point pattern checkering with mullered borders at grip. Vacant silver shield is on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has flat steel tip and typical Parker release. Bore diameter: left -.730, right -.730. Bore restrictions: left -.038 (full), right -.027 (Imod). Wall thickness: left -.032, right -.030. Drop at heel: 2-1/2", drop at comb: 1-5/8". Weight: 7 lbs 0 oz. LOP: 14". All specifications match those listed in the PARKER GUN IDENTIFICATION AND SERIALIZATION LEDGER. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, with only a few light marks in orig blue of bbls. Case color on action is exceptionally vivid, with just a hint of silvering on forend iron and sharp edges. Trigger guard retains most of its orig blue, most loss due to flaking, with grip area relatively brown. Color on forend latch and tip is vivid. Stocks retain essentially all of their orig finish, with some light marks and scratches, mostly on bottom left of butt. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. THE PARKER STORY estimates that 2293 12 ga VH guns were made with 26" Vulcan steel bbls. An exceptional benchmark gun useful in determining orig condition in others. 49006-1 MGM319 (5,000-8,000)
