CUSTOM MODEL 21 WINCHESTER ENGRAVED AND GOLD INLAID BY ANGELO BEE.WINCHESTERMODEL 21777412 GAMODERNCal. 12 GA 3” Chambers. 28” Bbls are marked for improved and full chokes, and stamped with typical Winchester nomenclature on tops. There are 3-1/2” triangles of well cut open scroll on breech ends, which have central semi-relief gold inlaid vignettes of game birds; grouse on left, ducks on right. 1-1/2” triangles of scroll and gold bands are at muzzles. Coin finished flat side Model 21 action features automatic safety and gold-plated sgl selective trigger. Action is engraved with near full coverage scroll matching that on bbls, surrounding large vignettes of semi-relief gold inlaid game birds in well engraved backgrounds; a trio of grouse, two hens in foreground, and drumming male on log in background, are on left side. Trio of mallards are settling into a marsh on right. A covey of quail erupt from fence line on bottom of action. This scene is signed by well-known engraver, Angelo Bee, at bottom right, and is also gold inlaid with a bee. Fences are full relief carved with open shaded scroll. Blued trigger guard has gold wire inlaid banding at edges, and depicts a flushing quail in gold. Strikingly marbled European walnut full pistol grip buttstock measures 14-5/8” over black “Old English” pad. Side panels feature fluted drop points, and have gold wire inlaid borders. Point pattern checkering with line borders is at grip. Monogram “HI” is inlet at rear of toe line. Matching unbraced beavertail ejector forend has typical J-spring and knurled button release. Bore diameter: left -.729, right -.729. Bore restrictions: left -.031 (full), right -.022 (Mod). Wall thickness: left -.028, right -.031. Drop at heel: 2-1/8", drop at comb: 1-5/8". Weight: 7 lbs 8 oz. LOP: 14-5/8“. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, as custom finished, with only a few minor handling marks on wood and metal finishes. A slight dent is in bottom panel of checkering in forend, and about ¼” of gold wire inlay missing from left side panel. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Ejectors are slightly out of time.
