FINE WALTER KOLOUCH ENGRAVED AND GOLD INLAID WINCHESTER MODEL 42 PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN.WINCHESTER42 CUSTOM69697410MODERN; C&RCal. 410. Extraordinary custom engraved, rare model 42 with 28" solid rib skeet choked bbl with 2-1/2" chamber. Mounted with very highly figured, double diamond checkered American walnut with large target forearm and rosewood capped pistol grip stock that has Winchester Trademarked hard rubber buttplate. Receiver is incredibly engraved with spectacular gold inlay by Walter Kolouch, one of Americas premier engravers. Engraving consists of the raised gold figure of a seated man wearing a cowboy hat and apron, with sleeves rolled up carving a duck decoy with his faithful Labrador retriever laying by his right leg. In the foreground are 3 completed decoys. Each side of the central figure is inlaid with raised gold oak leaves and acorns with the acorns and decoy wings in rose and yellow gold. Right side is inlaid with an incredible large raised gold spaniel holding a deceased mallard in his mouth, also with oak leaves and acorns before and after. The rear side acorns are not in gold, the balance of the receiver is beautifully engraved in foliate arabesque patterns with fine pearled background. The same fine background surrounds both central vignettes. Both sides of the receiver, sight groove and trigger bow are inlaid with fine gold wire. Front and top side edges are also inlaid with raised gold oak leaves which are also found at the top rear. Matching engraving patterns continue over the bbl extension and onto the bbl with raised gold oak leaves and acorns on each side of the chamber area. Magazine tube is engraved in matching patterns at the receiver. Both sided of muzzle end of bbl are inlaid with fine gold wire. Engravers signature is engraved on the side above the ejection port. CONDITION: Extremely fine, overall retains virtually all of its fine custom finish to both metal and wood. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 49417-34 JR (10,000-15,000)
