EARLY WATERCOLOR GOLD BROOCH OF WASHINGTON AT DORCESTER HEIGHTS.Circa early 1800s. Unsigned and unmarked. After a painting by Gilbert Stuart (1755-1828). The rectangular vertical scene shows Washington in uniform holding hat in one hand and his horse with the other hand. A ship can be seen in the background on the water. Beveled glass front in a solid gold pinch-back brooch. SIZE: 1-1/2" h x 1" w. CONDITION: Watercolor very good. One small chip in bottom corner or glass.
