DIMINUTIVE EARLY AMERICAN PINE HUTCH TABLE.First quarter 19th Century, New England. Circular top hinged and tilting on a chair base. Shaped and scalloped plank side supports applied with armrests with scrolled grips. The rear of the arm supports drilled for support rod on which the top pivots. Rectangular seat slides in a groove, opening to reveal a storage well beneath. The whole terminating in shoe feet. SIZE: Diameter: 52" Height: 26-1/4" Base width: 23-1/2" Base depth: 21" CONDITION: Surfaces with varnish over earlier red wash, showing appropriate wear, now age darkened. Top with old shrinkage cracks, mostly on seams, stabilized over time with nails and small braces, with age appropriate blemishes and abrasions throughout. Generally good. 49922-12 HMG (4,000-6,000)
