ADJUSTABLE WROUGHT IRON LIGHTING STAND.Second half 18th century, probably English or Continental. With candle cup, clamp for rush light splints, and shelf for grease lamp. Tripartite base with penny feet and cabriole leg with swelling just above knee, the tapering center standard with adjustable spring tension lighting platform and knop top. SIZE: 46-1/4" t x 12-1/2" w. PROVENANCE: Estate of Siro R. Toffolon of Old Lyme, CT. CONDITION: Very good with pleasing oxidized patina. 49476-50 DH (700-900)
