FOUR WOOD CARVINGS OF INDIAN CHIEFS.Last quarter of the 20th century, origin unknown. These carvings are in the manner of cigar store figures of the late 19th/early 20th century done in America, but are of a later date and quite likely not American. Nicely detailed and painted decorative carvings. One chief is sitting cross-legged with peace pipe, another chief is standing in scout position posed with cigars, another chief standing with mountain lion at feet and the fourth with cigar box and spear. SIZE: Tallest is 76" h x 21" w x 17" d. Shortest is 37" h x 10" w x 9" d. PROVENANCE: Personal collection of Felix J Urioste. CONDITION: Generally good with some age cracks and paint loss, particularly to seated chief. 50105-1 DH (800-1,200)
