TWO SHERATON DROP-LEAF WORK TABLES.Second quarter 19th Century, New England. 1) This birch example with square top and hinged rectangular leaves above a conforming frieze. Fitted with a bank of two drawers with rounded fronts. Raised on tapering cylindrical ring-turned legs terminating in turnip feet. The whole in a red wash. 2) The rectangular top with hinged D-formed leaves above a conforming apron. Fitted with a bank of two drawers. Raised on ring-turned cylindrical legs, terminating in ball feet with ringed cuffs. SIZE: 1) Height: 29" Top: 18" X 18" 2) Height: 29" Top: 17" closed x 23" deep CONDITION: Both tables with worn and dry red wash surfaces and with abrasions and scratches throughout. The first retains original wood knobs, the second with replaced knobs. The second table with wood loss over proper left front hinge and partial loss to lower drawer bottom. 49922-10 HMG (400-600)
