THIRD MODEL 1873 WINCHESTER OCTAGON BARREL FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE WITH CRESCENT BUTT.WINCHESTER73510765B38 WCFCal. 38 WCF. 24" oct bbl, full magazine, blue finish. Straight grained varnished American walnut stocks. Bbl has 2-line Winchester address on top flap in front of sight and cal mark at breech. Standards sights. Receiver is third type and of the stepped variety. Upper tang is marked "Model 1873" with finials. Lower tang has SN stamped behind lever. Stocks are straight grained with varnish finish. Crescent buttplate and steel fore-end cap. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl and magazine retain 40% dull blue finish turning a pleasing plumb brown patina, with some light scratches all over. Markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver retains 60-70% bright blue overall with most of the wear on the top and left side in front of hammer. Loss has turned a smooth plumb brown patina. Markings are sharp. Elevator is a deep mustard patina with sharp cal mark. Dust cover retains 60% bright blue finish. Hammer and lever retain generous traces of case color in protected areas. Stocks are very good to fine, full sized and have numerous small scratches and dents overall. Buttplate is silver gray patina with traces of case color. Fore-end cap retains 20% blue.
