WINCHESTER 2ND MODEL 1873 ROUND BARREL FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE WITH CRESCENT BUTT AND IVORY BEAD FRONT SIGHT.WINCHESTER18734955344 WCFIVORYCal. 44 WCF. 24" rnd bbl, full magazine, blue finish. Straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Bbl has 2-line Winchester address in front of rear sight. No cal marking, which is correct for this model. Front sight is a blade type with an "certifiable pre-ban elephant ivory" bead. Rear sight is a standard Buckhorn style. Receiver is of 2nd model type having dust cover guide rail attached with a screw. Upper tang is marked "Model 1873". SN is engraved on lower tang behind lever. Elevator is unmarked, which is correct. Stocks have a crescent buttplate and a steel fore-end cap. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 50% blue overall, blending to a plumb brown patina with some scratch marks towards the muzzle. Magazine tube is a gray brown patina overall. Sights are very good. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Receiver is a dull gray blue patina with some scratching on both sides, especially around the loading port. Hammer is a silver gray patina. Lever is a plumb brown patina. Elevator is a mustard patina. Tang markings are sharp. Stocks are very good, lightly cleaned with numerous mars and dents, especially on the bottom of the butt. Fore-end has two deep dents at mid-point and a chip missing on the forward left side. Buttplate is a silver gray patina as is the fore-end cap.
