Straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt. This rifle was made in 1894 the first year of production for the model 94 Winchester. Standard sights for this model. Included is a set of loading dies and ammunition for this rifle. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 80-90% of the blue finish with the bbl turning somewhat plum colored. Sights are very good. Bbl markings are sharp and clear. Bbl has some high point wear and some slight muzzle wear. Magazine shows some wear as a result of the takedown feature. Bore is dark with strong rifling. Receiver retains 90% original bright blue with some slight abrasion on left side and slight carry wear. Bolt retains 90% blue. Loading gate shows considerable fire blue. Hammer and lever retain 60-70% vivid case color with most of wear on the lever loop. Stocks are excellent with nearly all of the original varnish finish and only minuscule scratches and a few dents overall. Buttplate is a silver-gray patina with a couple of small stains. Forend cap retains 80% bright blue. This is an opportunity to obtain a very fine example of a first year production Winchester model 94 rifle with a very desirable takedown feature. 50058-1 TEP (4,000-6,000)
