FINE AND SCARCE COLT 3RD MODEL 1851 NAVY REVOLVER. COLT 1851 NAVY 22942 36 CAL Cal. 36. This is fine and untouched 100% original and authentic 3rd model 1851 Navy revolver made in 1853. Gun has fine aesthetics overall with all markings and proper configuration of other Colt Navy revolvers. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. "Bill" Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: All matching SNs including wedge and grips. Bbl retains about 30% thinning bright blue finish with crisp 1-line New York address with dashes. Frame is marked with small "COLT''S PATENT" on left side overall gray with light pitting. Cylinder is matching gray with scattered pitting with good markings and 80% crisp rolled cylinder Naval battle scene. Backstrap and trigger guard retain strong traces of silver with balance smooth mustard colored patina. Light tacking marks on butt. Grips are sound, well fit retaining virtually all their bright original varnish with scattered small blemishes and edge wear.
