SCARCE CIVILIAN CIVIL WAR COLT MODEL 1860 ARMY PERCUSSION REVOLVER. COLT 1860 ARMY CIV 95369 44 CAL Cal. 44. Honest Colt percussion Army revolver made in 1863 at height of Civil war, most likely private purchase of Union Officer. Gun shows honest use and good care, gun appears 100% original, complete and matching with good overall aesthetics. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. "Bill" Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Good to very good overall, tiny traces of original finish in protected areas. All matching SNs including wedge and grips. Small "L" is found adjacent to SNs which often denotes London but this gun has no British proofs so it was sold domestically. Bbl has moderate muzzle wear. Iron overall has scattered light pitting and old cleaning brush marks and overall color is gray/brown with good discernible markings overall. Cylinder retains about 60% rolled cylinder scene with one side heavily pitted, all 6 safety pins are present. Hammer screw is replaced, otherwise gun appears all original. Grips are well fit with hand worn patina and traces of original factory varnish. Mechanically gun functions well, with crisp rifling. 49973-94 JS (2,000-4,000)
