FINE AND RARE COLT RICHARDS-MASON/MODEL 1860 ARMY CONVERSION REVOLVER. COLT 1860 ARMY 5983 44 CAL Cal. 44 RF. This fine example of scarce Colt made about 1877, this gun appears original, complete, authentic and all matching, in correct configuration with 8" bbl and factory nickel. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. "Bill" Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Very good to fine overall. Gun retains about 90% of original nickel, moderate to heavy muzzle wear with loss of plating at muzzle end and other losses mostly on bbl lug and around ejector housing which this area also has numerous small dings, dents and tool marks at wedge slot on right side. Cylinder retains virtually all rolled Naval battle scene with edge wear obliterating few letters in legend with few scratched lines and small areas of light pitting. Trigger guard only shows traces of nickel. Grips are sound and well fit, retaining over half original factory varnish with scattered small blemishes. Several screw heads still retain fire blue. Mechanically gun functions well with crisp discernible bore. 49973-151 JS (4,000-6,000)
