VERY FINE AND RARE COLT MODEL 1862 POLICE CONVERSION REVOLVER. COLT 1862 6048 38 CAL Cal. 38. Very fine ''62 conversion with most desirable 6-1/2" bbl, all matching, complete and original with loads of original finish. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. "Bill" Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Bright blue finish found in protected areas on bbl and cylinder with balance a fairly even plum. Hammer and frame have strong traces of bright case colors, overall muted case turning to smooth silver/gray. Well fit grips retain 98% original factory varnish with moderate edge wear. Light tacking marks. Mechanics are crisp, well defined rifling in pitted bore. 49973-210 JS (2,000-3,000)
