COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH FULL NICKEL FINISH. COLT SAA 331370 32 WCF MODERN; C&R Cal .32 WCF, 4-3/4" bbl, full nickel finish with checkered hard rubber grips. Bbl has standard 2-line address with cal mark on left side. Front sight is correct low profile. Bbl is otherwise unmarked. Frame has 2-line patent mark on forward left side with rampant Colt logo, without circle to the right. Trigger guard has "VP" proof on forward left bow and assembler no. 3 on left rear bow. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Cyl is unnumbered. Grips are unnumbered. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming cal, bbl length, and nickel finish. Stocks not listed. Letter states that this Revolver was originally furnished with a dbl action cyl of long flute configuration. It states that the Revolver was shipped to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri dated November 5, 1915 in a 2 gun shipment. The cyl that is in the revolver, is not of the long flute configuration and is possibly a later replacement because of timing problems that were common with long flute cylinders. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 80-85% orig nickel finish with sharp markings. Bbl is somewhat battered on the lower left side in front of the cyl pin. Cyl pin is a replacement. There is slight flaking at the left side of the muzzle. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Ejector rod housing has 95% bright nickel finish with some slight scratches. Frame retains 80% orig nickel finish with some flaking around the edges of the cyl opening. Markings are sharp. Trigger guard retains 90% nickel finish with some flaking to the rear on each side. Backstrap retains 10% nickel finish, mainly on apron behind hammer, and on the butt, with balance turning silver gray patina with some light pitting. Hammer, trigger, and screws retain almost all of their orig nickel finish, with some light flaking on the hammer. Cyl retains 80% nickel finish with most of the loss on the front face , and some flaking and scratches on edges of flutes. Grips are very good with sharp checkering and medallions, and only miniscule handling marks. Grips are replacements, as is the grip screw. A very nice full nickel finish Colt single action army revolver that has a repair that was necessary to many long flute revolvers. 50062-21 TEP (4,000-7,000)
