COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH MOTHER OF PEARL GRIPS.COLTSAA33967545 COLTMODERN; C&RCal .45 Colt, 4-3/4" bbl, blue and case color finish with 2-pc Mother of Pearl grips. Bbl has standard 2-line address and cal mark on left side. Thick high front sight. Frame has 2-line patent mark on forward left side with rampant Colt logo, without circle to the right. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Last 2 digits of SN are stamped on rear face of rear cylinder. Grips are unmarked. This revolver is accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming cal, bbl length, blue finish, with stocks not listed. Letter states that the Revolver was sold to G.R. Humewall F. Co., address unavailable and shipped to T.B. Davis Arms Company, Portland, Maine on July 23, 1920 in a 1 gun shipment. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Fine as professionally refinished. Bbl retains 95% bright blue with some speckling and a few small dents. Muzzle wear on left side. Front sight has been slightly filed. Ejector rod has 80% bright blue fading on the outer edge towards muzzle. Frame retains 20% case color with some vivid color in gullet in front of cyl. Siting groove in top strap has been filed square. Trigger guard and backstrap have SN stamped on inside of grip on upper left side. Left forward trigger guard bow has "VP" proof with no. 1 assembler mark above it. Hammer has been replaced with a later model that has polished sides and fine knurling. Screws retain a considerable amount of re-blued finish. Cyl retains 50-60% faded re-blued finish, with a drag-mark at the rear and high-point wear. Pearl grips have nice figure and no chips.
