COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH TARGET SIGHTS. COLT SAA 349802 45 COLT MODERN; C&R Cal .45 Colt, 5-1/2" bbl, blue and case color finish. No grips. Bbl has standard 1-line bbl address and cal mark on left side. Front sight has a target blade pinned on with ivory bead. Frame has 2-line patent mark on forward left side with rampant Colt log without a circle to the right. Loading gate and right rear of frame have assembly no. 193. Left front trigger guard bow shows "VP" proof and assembler no. 3. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap, with last 2 digits stamped on rear face of cyl. Revolver is accompanied by Colt factory letter confirming cal, bbl length, and finish. Showing rubber stocks. Shipment was to Schoverling, Daly and Gales, New York, N.Y. on October 8, 1926 in a 1 gun shipment. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refinished. Bbl retains 95% blue with muzzle wear on the left front side. Markings are sharp. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Front sight is good. Frame retains 80% re-case color finish, with sight cut into rear of top strap. Trigger guard and backstrap both retain 98% deep re-blued finish. Hammer is replaced and has 80% of the blue finish on top and rear. Sides are polished bright. All SN stampings are clear and sharp. Screws and trigger retain nearly all of their dark re-blued finish, with trigger turning somewhat plumb. Cyl retains 90% re-blued finish, with front edge wear and a slight drag mark. Chambers are good. SN is sharp. A very fine single action army revolver that has target sights installed and a very professional re-finish job. 50062-29 TEP (1,500-2,500)
