COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH CHECKERED HARD RUBBER GRIPS.COLTSAA30073232 WCFMODERN; C&RCal. 32 WCF. 4-3/4" bbl, blue and case color finish, checkered hard rubber grips with Colt medallion. Bbl has standard 2-line address on top with cal mark on left side. Front sight is low profile, which is correct for this cal. Frame has 2-line patent mark on forward left side with Rampant Colt logo in circle to the right. A sight has been dovetailed into the rear of the top strap. Loading gate has assembly number 2421 stamped on rear face. 2421 is also stamped on the frame under trigger guard. SN matches on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Cyl and grips are not numbered. Hammer is a silver/gray patina, screws are replaced. Trigger shows considerable blue finish and is a replacement. Accompanying this revolver is a Colt Factory Letter confirming cal, bbl length and finish and showing shipment to Wyeth Hardware & MFG. Co., St. Joseph, MO, on October 14, 1907 in a shipment of 25 guns. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl is a gray/brown patina overall with some roughness and slight traces of blue near the ejector rod. Bbl markings have some erosion. Front sight is full size. Bore is frosty with some staining and good rifling. Frame has been re-case colored and is slightly undersized at forward end. Markings are sharp. Trigger guard and backstrap are a gray/blue patina with traces of blue in protected areas around trigger guard and behind hammer. All markings are sharp. Cyl is a silver/gray patina overall with some blue in the flutes and a drag mark at the rear. Grips are very good with high point wear and a few small dents, no cracks. Grips are replacements and are over-sized. A nice, honest old Colt six-shooter with adjustable sight. 50062-16 TEP (1,000-2,000)
