4TH GENERATION COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER SPECIAL EDITION WITH BLACK POWDER STYLE FRAME AND OTHER BLACK POWDER FEATURES. COLT SAA S46101A 44 SPEC/44 WCF MODERN; C&R Cal .44 SPEC/44 WCF, 4-3/4" bbl, full nickel finish with case color hammer, equipped with 2 cylinders. 2-pc checkered hard rubber grips with Colt medallion and American Eagle logo. Bbl has standard 1-line address on top and "Colt Frontier Six-Shooter" in a rolled panel on the left side. High front sight. Ejector rod has a donut-head. Frame is of the black powder type with a screw holding in the cyl base pin. 3-line patent date on mid left side of frame. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Last 3 digits of SN are stamped on inner flat of loading gate and on the face of both cylinders. Last 3 digits of SN are also scratched on inside of both grips. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very fine to excellent. Bbl and ejector rod housing retain nearly all the orig nickel finish, with only slight scratching. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight is full sized. Bore is bright with strong rifling and a few minor stains. Frame, trigger guard, and backstrap all retain 99% of the orig nickel finish with a few very slight handling marks. Trigger and screws also retain nearly all the orig nickel finish. All markings are sharp. Hammer retains nearly all of its case hardened finish, with coarse knurling. 44-40 cyl retains nearly all the orig nickel finish and appears un-fired. 44 spec cyl has been fired, chambers need to be cleaned, and front face of cyl has dark stains. Grips are excellent with sharp checkering and logos. A very nice Colt Frontier Six-Shooter made in modern time with old black powder features. 50062-69 TEP (1,250-1,750)
