GROUP OF FIVE HOLSTERS.

1) Single loop holster in the top "Tom 3 persons" style for a Colt 5-1/2" SA revolver. Holster is marked on the loop "Prosser Martin, Del Rio, Texas". Holster is a russet brown with a forward cant. Toe is sewn to the skirt. Loop is sewn to the skirt. Holster is unlined. 2) High quality left hand fully tooled holster with safety strap, made for a 7-1/2" Colt SA revolver. Holster has forward cant and is marked on the rear "Prosser Martin Maker, Del Rio, Texas". Tooling is floral with "LHF" across the middle of the body. Holster is lined. Toe has hole for hold-down strap. 3) Plain russet brown holster made for a large frame dbl action revolver, possibly a Colt new service. Holster is russet brown in color. Holster is marked on the rear "Prosser Martin Maker, Del Rio, Texas". There is some writing on the back loop that appears to be a name, but is not legible. 4) An early catalog type holster with "Biffar Chicago" stamped on the front face. Tooling is basic. Holster has been cut short. Belt loop has catalog no. that says "45" over "6". Made for a large frame dbl action Colt. 5) Double loop Mexican style holster made for a Colt Model 1878 dbl action revolver. Holster is marked with a partially legible makers cartouche, with the name beginning with "A.M ---, Yorktown, Tex." There is a 3-star decoration above the cartouche and 3-star decorations on each loop. Holster has "406" stamped on rear and is made for cross-draw carry. SIZE: PROVENANCE: The Estate of G.W. "Bill" Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: 1) Fine. Holster has a rich russet brown finish with only slight scuff marks. Mark is sharp. Stitching is intact. 2) Very good. Tooling is sharp. Marking is sharp. Leather has some black staining, especially on the rear. Stitching is intact. 3) Fine. Holster is a nice russet brown color with very few marks. Clear stamp and intact stitching. 4) Good. Holster is worn overall. Dark brown in color with a clear mark. Stitching is broken toward the toe. 5) Very good. The upper part of the body is heavily crazed and turning black with a partially legible cartouche. Loops are intact. Stitching is intact. Toe plug is missing. 49973-255 TEP (1,000-2,000)
