COLT NEW LINE REVOLVER WITH BLUE AND CASE COLORED FINISH GERMAN SILVER FRONT SIGHT AND PEARL GRIPS IN ENGLISH CASE. COLT NEW LINE 3918 41 CF Cal. 41 CF. 2 1/4" bbl. Blue and case color finish. 2-pc pearl grips. Bbl has standard 2-line address. Left side shows etched panel "COLT NEW 41". Left side of bbl shows 2 British proof marks. Bbl has German silver front sight. Frame shows "41 Cal. C" on left side. Bbl, frame and cylinder show matching SN. Grips are unmarked. Case is English, made of oak, lid is screwed on with unmarked brass medallion. Case has Colt Patent Firearms MFG. Co. Pall Mall London label. Case is lined with blue felt. Case has cartridge block for 10 cartridges. There are a 7 old cartridges in case. Key compartment has ivory pull. Accompanied by a collector''s index card and correspondence indicating purchase from David Wolloch in 1968. PROVENANCE: The Dr. Robert G. Cox Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 90% bright blue finish with flaking on right side and a few minor scratches on left side. Bbl address is sharp. Etched panel is excellent. Front sight is excellent. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Frame retains 80-85% case color that is vivid in protected areas. Top strap shows edge wear with miniscule scratching. Backstrap has drifted somewhat to brown patina as has forestrap. Frame markings are clear. Hammer retains nearly all fire blue on top and back. Trigger retains 80% fire blue. Screws retain 80% fire blue. Cylinder retains 60% bright blue finish with 1 area of erosion between two flutes that has been lightly cleaned. Chambers are clean. Grips are fine with vivid rainbow hues and no chips. Case is very good with minor scratching overall. Lining is very good with some wear in places where the revolver rests.
