SCARCE REID "MY FRIEND" .32 CAL LARGE FRAME KNUCKLEDUSTER. REID MY FRIEND 6821 .32 Cal. 32. Very rare trap-door style frame configuration marked on top left "MY FRIEND PATD DEC. 26, 1865". Bronze frame. Cylinder pin with matching SN at front of frame. Hammer originally in the white. Cylinder with nickel finish. Safety at front of frame with high polish blued finish. Grip sides with very tasteful large open floral scroll. Front of trigger guard with SN, butt with knurling in shield motif and dbl oval knurling below. Top strap nicely wave engraved and background shaded, recoil shield with light line engraving. Front frame with light sunburst line engraving. PROVENANCE: The Carmen Gianforte Collection. CONDITION: Excellent. Cylinder retains 65-75% bright orig nickel finish with scattered light toning and minor corrosion. Balance of frame retains approx 60% of its orig nickel finish, remainder having toned from light handling and use. Top strap and front of frame retain approx 60% orig nickel plated finish. Hammer is also very good. Engraving is sharp. Bore is very good with light wear. Mechanics are crisp. 49895-46 JSL59 (2,500-4,000)
